Why as a christ follower we should do the work of soul-winning?
2 Corinthians 5:3-21, gives us the background knowledge, why as a christ followers, we must share the message of christ and win souls before it is too late! further Proverbs 11:30 says, “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and whoever captures souls is wise.” (ESV)
What is soul winning means?
Soul winning is starting a conversation with an unsaved person, and sharing God’s plan of salvation with him/her, from the Holy Bible, so that he/she may clearly understands, HOW he/she may Receive Christ as his/her Saviour, and be saved and have eternal life. further in simple words, It means, leading a person to christ not to a place or religion.
Following are some of Biblical reasons to win-souls
1. God commands us to do it:
“And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. ” (Mar 16:15, ESV)
2. Same is the purpose of christ:
” For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” ” (Luk 19:10, ESV)
3. We need to give an account on the day of Judgment:
“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.” (2Co 5:10, ESV)
4. Severe punish would follow those who do not repent:
“Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we persuade others. But what we are is known to God, and I hope it is known also to your conscience.” (2Co 5:11, ESV)
5. The Love of Christ makes to desires salvation of all men & women:
“For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died;” (2Co 5:14, ESV)
6. The salvation brings immeasurable blessings to all the people:
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” (2Co 5:17, ESV)
7. God has given us the ministry of reconciliation:
“All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;” (2Co 5:18, ESV)
8. For we are ambassadors for Christ:
“Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We implore you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.” (2Co 5:20, ESV)
9. To become christ faithful followers:
” His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’ ” (Mat 25:21, ESV)
10. The christ promised us to make as Soul-Winner:
“And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” ” (Mat 4:19, ESV)
11. So that we may not be ashamed with our empty hands:
“And now, little children, abide in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not shrink from him in shame at his coming.” (1Jn 2:28, ESV)
12. People are helpless and harassed without their true redeemer:
“When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.” (Mat 9:36, ESV)
13. Our Lord Jesus Christ himself a good soul-winner (John 4):
” For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” ” (Luk 19:10, ESV)
14. We do not have must time, as it may seems to be:
” We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work. ” (Joh 9:4, ESV)
15. Its an unique privilege, even angels do not have it:
“And now send men to Joppa and bring one Simon who is called Peter.” (Act 10:5, ESV)
16. It is a necessity that laid on all the followers of Christ:
“For if I preach the gospel, that gives me no ground for boasting. For necessity is laid upon me. Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel!” (1Co 9:16, ESV)
17. Soul winners are bestowed with blessings:
“In the morning sow your seed, and at evening withhold not your hand, for you do not know which will prosper, this or that, or whether both alike will be good.” (Ecc 11:6, ESV)
Conclusion:
Eventually, It’s a great experience to see, how God is using his people to bring the dying men and women to the eternal life, and it is such great exciting to see, through the work of evangelism the broken relationship between God and man are being reconciled.
Soul winning for christ is an imminent task and we do not have too many opportunity of lives to fulfil it. By the grace of God, today we have the advantage of modern tool to share the loving message of christ to the people of the world.
If the earthly memories follows in eternal life in heaven, then the people to those whom you have shared the message of christ will thank you and love you!
