Introduction

In one of my conversation with young people, there were several questions discussed, however, one of the question drew stronger attention. It revealed, how our youngsters intrinsically lack seeking God?

The question was, “What we do or how we act, determines the end result, if such is the case, then for what reason we need God?”
There are many questions similar to as such, for instance,
Isn’t it people are doing good without seeking God or prayers? If all is well, why, I need God?

I work hard, sincere and truthful, further, I love and take care of family, kept away from wrong doings, as I’m enabled helping others, isn’t it all enough? (Why, need God?)

So this leaves with following questions:
Why, it is important to seek, worship or obey God, in first place?

First is first, this discussion is no use to those who are in position of not believing in the existence of God. Following answers are for those who are on the side of believing in His existence.
The struggle is, If our action determines the end result, then, what is place of God in our lives? Why we seek or obey Him?

The mind set of people
Back then and now, are not much difference in thinking as per common life of person is in perspective. E.g. “Let’s eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.”(Isa.22:13; 1 Cor. 15:32).
Our Lord Jesus teaching draws a person out of cubical view of the life. For He said, “For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing.” (Luke 12:23)

The greater purpose
It enunciates that the, life has much broader and greater purpose, than, merely lived for material consumption.

Illustration: A Vehicle needs petrol(fuel), but it would be wrong to say that, vehicle is made for petrol. Instead it is intended for the transport although vehicle cannot run without fuel nor our life without food. Just think, what a waste it would be if a vehicle filled with fuel and doesn’t serve the purpose of transport or stand up for it’s meaning?

The Importance of Seeking the Lord
Our Lord Jesus enunciates here, life is more than eating, drinking and merry(Vv 30-31). And to know the fullness of life and its ground purpose, first you must seek the giver of this life! Matt. 6:33

” For all the nations of the world seek after these things, and your Father knows that you need them. Instead, seek his kingdom, and these things will be added to you. ” (Luk 12:30-31, ESV)

None your own effort, discovery, invention, success or acme knowledge, would ever aid you to know the real purpose and meaning of this human life, except the giver!

The fullness of joy comes when we seek the giver of this life (John 6:26-27).

Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, you are looking for me, not because you saw the signs I performed but because you ate the loaves and had your fill.  Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
