Allen Woody, adopted name of Allen Stewart Konigsberg 1935-US film writer, director, and actor, once said about death as follows, “It’s not that I’m afraid to die. I just don’t want to be there when it happens.“
1. Where is the person, who died?
Many years ago, a great noble man lived; whose name was, Job! He asked this thoughtful question, that is,
“But a man dies and is laid low; man breathes his last, and where is he?” (Job 14:10, ESV)
2. What happens when we die?
Life return to the giver, body returns to the dust, and Soul travel to the Lord for its eternal destiny!
“Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.” (2 Corinthians 5:8, ESV)
“and the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.” (Ecclesiastes 12:7, ESV)
3. Do we return to this life again?
According to Bible once we die, no more we return to this life in the same way it departed.
“As the cloud fades and vanishes, so he who goes down to Sheol does not come up” (Job 7:9, ESV)
“he returns no more to his house, nor does his place know him anymore.” (Job 7:10, ESV)
4. Does soul sleeps till the Judgement-day?
Plain reading of scripture shows, the deceased’s soul instantly travels to the Lord’s presence for Judgment, moreover, “soul sleeping theory,” is contradict to the teaching of Apostle Paul.
2 Corinthians 5:8 – “…Away from the body and at home with the Lord”
1 Thessalonians 4:14 – “…God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.”
5. Does Bible teaches the Reincarnation(Rebirth) of soul?
One life, one death, and thereafter Judgment!
“And just as it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment,” (Hebrews 9:27, ESV)
6. What is the eternal destiny of the Righteous & Wicked?
To the unsaved:
“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.” (Matthew 25:41, ESV)
To the saved:
“Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears, let him hear.” (Matthew 13:43, ESV)
7. Does every soul adorned with RIP(Rest in Peace)?
The Cross that made out of stone and metal with the text, “RIP” does no good!
“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.” (John 5:24, ESV)
8. Why we should take the warning of the Scripture?
No rest in Hell:
“And the smoke of their torment goes up forever and ever, and they have no rest, day or night,…” (Rev. 14:11, ESV)
“…for I am in anguish in this flame…” (Luke 16:24, ESV)
Seek the real rest:
“… let us fear lest any of you should seem to have failed to reach it.” (Heb. 4:1, ESV)
“Let us therefore strive to enter that rest,…” (Heb. 4:11, ESV)
9. What is the bottom line of Human Life?
“for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world.” (1 Tim. 6:7, ESV)
“so as to live for the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for human passions but for the will of God.” (1 Peter 4:2, ESV)
“Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap.” (Gal. 6:7, ESV)
10. A challenging question for every thinking person?
“…where have you come from and where are you going?…” (Genesis 16:8, ESV)
