1. Abraham the father of Faith, was looking forward for more than the land of Canaan.
“For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God.” (Hebrews 11:10, ESV)
2. All true Children of God are looking forward for the city, not built on the earth.
“For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come.” (Hebrews 13:14, ESV)
3. God himself has prepared for his children a city
“But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared for them a city.” (Hebrews 11:16, ESV)
4. Our Lord Jesus too, promised to prepare a place for us.
” “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.” ” (John 14:1-4, ESV)
Conclusion
Pray for the redemption of sinful cities and live with good testimony in midst of it.
